The Memory of Paper
These works consist of mixed media pieces created on recycled newspaper paper and investigate the material traces of memory. The paper, produced from recycled copies of Agos newspaper, carries the residue of printed words that have dissolved but have not entirely disappeared. These traces continue to exist within the fibrous surface of the paper.
Through layers of pigment, scraped areas, fragmented marks, and the quiet harmony of grey, black, gold, and earthy tones, the works reflect the simultaneous processes of remembering and forgetting. Handmade paper is approached not merely as a surface, but as an active field of memory fragile, layered, and continuously transforming. These works form a silent visual archive in which memory is dispersed, reconstructed, and held through material traces.
